Accepted!

I just received word that my blog has been accepted into rssHuggers data base. You can check out Random Encounters of We rss page and help support us by increasing our views. There are a ton of new blogs being added daily. They have a random blog button which is fun to randomly look at blogs! That of course totally appeals to us here at Random Encounters of We. We also have a random button on our blog but when you click it, it brings up a random post from our archives. It's pretty fun. So check out our rss page and browse some blogs, and join to start increasing your website traffic!

RSS Hugger

Since going to Germany and suffering our page rank loss I am scrambling to quickly improve our blog and increase our traffic. I was just reading an article over at Blog About You Blog about a free RSS feed program that is designed to help increase your traffic called rssHugger. This peeked my interested as a great way to help restore balance to our blog once again. Blog About Your Blog is impressively in the top 100 feeds on rssHugger.

rssHugger is a new website designed to help the blogger promote their blog and to help viewers find new and interesting blogs. I know it can be a challenge to get your blog exposed to a lot of people, so this is another great way to get exposure. They currently have two options for joining rssHugger. In order to prevent spammers and junk blogs from joining you have to either write a quality post about rssHugger, or you can pay $20 and have your listing guaranteed for 10 years (which makes the price $2 per year!). I am excited about this program and to get my rss page up and running. I love to get Random Encounters of We exposed, and I enjoy finding new blogs to read. This site will be a great help with both. If you are looking to expand your website and increase traffic or just want to browse blogs and find some good ones to read, rssHugger is definitely a good place to go.

Bidvertiser

As I have previously mentioned I am trying some new techniques for advertising my blog and spreading the great news of Random Encounters of We. Bidvertiser recently sent me an email saying they were giving people $20 in ads to try out their services. I decided to sign up. I didn't expect much since google adwords isn't turning out very well. Surprisingly the Bidvertiser ad is going extremely well. I have seen my adsense revenue skyrocket since I've had my ad running. Given my adsense revenue wasn't very big I have been super excited at the steady stream of clicks resulting in over $3 per day. My unique visitor count has also increase. I used up the $20 allotment very quickly and so I've decided to use some of my own money and continue my Bidvertiser campaign for a week to see if the trend continues. I am so stoked that this ad campaign has worked well. Blog Reviews

I thought I would help this blog out by participating in Sponsored Reviews as an advertiser. I listed this blog and have received a lot of offers. I had 10 offers done. I thought that perhaps by having 10 blogs that I hadn't formerly linked with talk about this blog that I would generate a new little buzz. This plan has brought a little bit of traffic, but nothing like I expected. What I have learned from my attempts at advertising this blog is that I need to logically think through what my goals for advertising are, and which outlet will provide me with the most "bang for my buck." While I enjoy having blogs review Random Encounters of We, it isn't accomplishing the job I wanted done. My next step in advertising this site will be through Link Referral. I'm going to buy a top listing position on that website and that should bring in a lot of traffic. Our friends over at Blog About Your Blog did this for a month or two and saw tremendous results. We can look forward to that plan being implemented in September. If you have any other suggestions to advertise this blog and get the word out please let me know!

Consistant in Improving

Lately I have really been focusing on improving this blog. Not only the content, but my stats. I'm am trying to get more links to my blog (if your interested in exchanging links leave a comment), build my readership and subscribers. A couple weeks ago I added the feedburner subscribers button. Ever since then my subscribers has been steady at 7. This is ok, because at least things have been consistent. Now I would like to consistently improve things however. I thought that if I made my readers aware that I am aware of my subscribers perhaps more people would be willing and excited to subscribe. This hasn't been the case yet, but I will continue to seek ways to help my subscribers increase.

I have started advertising this blog. I have put up offers for bloggers to write about Random Encounters of We on Sponsored Reviews. I have really enjoyed having Random Encounters of We reviewed from Sponsored Reviews. It has been fun to see what people have to say about this blog and the things they like about it. It will help bring in different readers since it has been different genres of blogs that have been taking the opportunity.I have also started an adword campaign to help bring in the readers. I think that as soon as my adwords budget is spent I won't extend that contract. I realize having an ad floating out there for people to click on and come to this website doesn't realize the purpose I am seeking. When they click the ad and visit this website they probably only stay for a couple seconds because perhaps it wasn't what they were looking for. I think that adword campaigns are the most successful for those that are selling a product or service, not just for advertising a website like this one.

I am also going to be starting blog competitions. The first competition will be starting in the next few days. It will be a subscribership drawing. When you subscribe to my blog you will be entered into a drawing to win a prize. I have some great end of summer prizes so everyone will for sure want to get involved in this.

All in all, things are improving. I'm trying new things. I have added some great content lately and am going to strive to keep that high standard. With all the advertising and the fun blog contests coming up, it will be clear that Random Encounters of We is definitely a great place to be on the internet!

The Megaphone

It is always fun to come across funny new blogs. I did such a thing when I was visiting the Fair review website. This new blog I stumbled upon is called The Megaphone. This is a very funny, and interesting blog. This blog tells a story about something and then asks what you would do in the same situation as the people in the story. There is a funny story of a woman who found more money in her bank account than she thought and went on a spending spree. The question then is: what would you do if you found a bunch of extra money in your account? There are all different kinds of stories and scenarios. It's a hoot. Link Referral

If you look to the right of the posts you will see a sea of buttons. One of the buttons that flashes is from Link Referral. This free site allows you to register your websites and put them on a list under whatever category you choose. You can leave your sites alone from there and do nothing if you wish. You can receive views of your site and if people like your site they can "review" it and give comments and feedback and score of 1-5 stars. If you want to put some extra effort into this website you can look at 30 sites everyday (I usually devote 30 minutes to this every other day) and by looking at other sites you are moving your website to the top of the list. You also can "review" and give comments on up to 5 websites per day which also helps improve your ranking on the list.
I love this website. Like I said earlier I usually don't visit the recommended 30 everyday, but about every other day. It only takes about 30 minutes to do this if I am rushing through. The return I gain from this website especially when I take the time to do my "homework" for the site is huge. This site easily is to blame for a good 30% of traffic to my blogs (even higher than that on my game blog Random Games). I would most definitely recommend signing up for this site. Even if you do not want to do the extra work of view other websites, your site will still get hits because most everyone else is doing their 30 views. Check it out and let me know what you think!
