Insure This and Insure That

Insure everything! Through this wonderful process we are going through called home buying I cannot believe how much insurance is out there! We need home insurance, auto insurance (we get a discount if you get them through the same company), home warranties which are basically insurance for the systems in your home, people want you to insure the appliances or furniture you buy from them, new job equals new medical insurance and more life insurance. Things are getting out of hand. An interesting thing I have learned through getting quotes for home insurance and talking ot my parents about things is that insurance companies are your best friend when you are wanting a quote and they are hoping for your business, but the second anything happens to your home and you want them to pay for it they have never heard of you before. I cannot believe how greedy people are for free money. Pay for your insurance, but don't you dare make a claim or we will raise your rates or cancel you on the spot! It's horrible. Whatever happened to people wanting to help people. That is why we have insurance, to get help, but if I ever need help they will be quick to make it the most difficult time of my life. I think it is sad, and frustrating that this is what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life. Goodie!

Frozen Diet

It's now been 11 days since we moved in this hotel room with just a mini microwave and a mini fridge. We are lucky to have a free continental breakfast in the hotel but for lunch and dinner we are at the mercy of our tiny "kitchenette". For lunch we usually make sandwiches because that is the closest to homemade food that we can get here. Then for dinner we are either eating frozen dinners or eating out. My waist line is definitely suffering from living here and eating this diet. Eating out and eating frozen food are both not the healthiest things to eat a lot of, but when you don't have a kitchen it is hard to find healthy alternatives. I'm very much looking forward to getting into my house with a real kitchen so we can start eating real food again, and hopefully get my figure back to normal (or better than normal). If anyone has any tips or suggestions for meals you can prepare with just a fridge or microwave I would be very interested! Thanks!

Be Patriotic

People use flags as a way to show that they like something. Some people display flags of sports teams they cheer for, some people love where they come from and so they display their state flag, and a lot of people like to be patriotic and display an American flag in the front yard. Some people have little flag holders attached to their house, and others have full flag poles in their yard. At United-States-flags.com they are the highest online vendor of American flags and flag poles. They have over 500,000 flags to choose from including military flags, country flags, and state flags. They carry most sizes of flags from 4x6 inches to 20x30 feet coming in different quality levels and fabric types. They have indoor flag poles kits that are very strong and sturdy. They also carry outdoor flag pole and residential flag pole kits. They brag of the lowest prices for flag poles from 5ft to 100ft. All their orders usually ship within 48 hours in order to get your flags and flagpoles to you as soon as possible. They have a high quality of standards and aim for perfection through the Better Business Bureau. Visit their website, check out their products and get your flag order on its way today!

PPP Love

I have written about it before and I'll probably keep writing about it. What is it you ask? Pay Per Post!! It is an awesome site to find reviews, write about them and get paid a lot of money. The opportunities they have on Pay Per Post are on average worth more than most reviews you'll find on competing sites. In the 4 short months I have been a member of PPP there have been countless offers that I qualify for, worth a lot more than a typical $5. So far I have made $71 after I get paid for everything. You get paid 30 days after your post appears on your site to make sure the maximum number of people get to see the review. In order to sign up your blog must be at least 90 days old in order to get more established blogs. When I first started my blog I anxiously awaited my 90 days and signed up as soon as I could. I'm glad I have because it has provided some good opportunities and I have learned about products and websites I wouldn't have found out about without PPP. It's a great things so sign up as soon as you can, and please use my word of mouth marketing as a referral when you sign up! Thanks!

Original Art

Decorating with art pieces is very fun to do! I think it is even more fun to have original pieces, not replicas or prints. There is a website at www.beautifulrealart.com where you can buy strictly original pieces. They don't sell prints, copies, or any other kind of replica. They sell all kinds of art: oil paintings, water colors, pottery, drawings, photography and more. BeautifulRealArt.com also operates different from other art galleries, they stock in house all the art they sell. They carry many different genres of art from wildlife, to abstract, from modern to fantasy. Browse there extensive collection. Art is an investment that appreciates over time, so get your hands on some beautiful art from these great new up and coming artists and decorate your home or office today.

We Got a House!

Well the house hunting has reached an end! We officially bought a house today. Unless there is something terribly wrong that will come out in the home inspection we are a green light. We are very excited to own our own place, decorate it the way we want, get some new furniture and enjoy life as homeowners. We have only been living in the hotel for about 5 days and it is getting old so we are very anxious to get into our house. It will close sometime in June, but we are trying to make a deal to move into it on June 1st since the current owners will be gone by then. We are so excited! Last night we made a list of things we want to change, update and improve upon. We have never had the opportunity to do any home improvement things so some of it we will do ourselves and some of it we will leave to the professionals. One thing we are going to do first is fill in the pool, so if any one has any advice or tips for that process or the kind of person to hire to do that we would greatly appreciate it. This is an exciting new chapter in our lives!

Original Characters

When it comes to movies and TV shows I am a fan of original characters. I hate it when there are sequels or the next season of a show and the original characters are replaced by "look a likes" and we are supposed to pretend it is the same person... I think not! I have really appreciated that sequels of movies I like have kept all the main characters the same. I would go so far to say that if the main characters won't come back then it is time for the movie to end. The example that comes to my mind is the Spider-man movies. I really like things the way they are with Kirsten Dunst and Toby Maguire. We have made it all the way to Spider-man 3 with the originals. I have heard talk that they said they would not come back if there was a fourth movie. My husband of course is routing for a fourth movie, but if the original people won't come back, then it's time for the movie to end.

Another movie that I have heard a lot about lately is High School Musical. There have been a lot of things that have sprouted from the movie. There is a High School Musical concert that you can see on Disney channel practically every weekend. They are now turning that first movie into an ice show. Here is where the problem lies: the original characters that made High School Musical the sensation it is, are not going to be on the ice, therefore, I predict it will be a flop. Everyone that loves that movie loves it for the people. The sequel to High School Musical comes out in August and I hope that all the original people are in it, otherwise that too will flop (although I think it won't be as good as the first no matter who is in it).

Maybe I'm just not one for change, but I can't sit back and enjoy a show when there is a replacement person. They can think the show will continue on just fine, but I think it really hurts things. What do you think? Do you feel like replacements are just as good as original, or do you prefer original characters like me?

We have Arrived!

Well we have reached our destination in Kansas. We are staying in a hotel until we can find a home and it turns out this is going to be an interesting and challenging experience. My husband gets to go off to work everyday and me and the baby get to stay in this little hotel room. It is a suit but not enough room for a 1 year old. I'm hoping there aren't too many people staying on the same floor as us so we can run up and down the halls and not bug too many people. This will definitely be a memorable experience! We'll keep you updated on the house hunt.

Wallhogs

I just learned about this very cool site called Wallhogs. Wallhogs is a one stop shop for photography. They offer services such as prints on canvas, glossy posters, and semi-adhesive vinyl prints. You just visit their website and upload your own photography and choose how you want it. If you don't have your own photos to upload they also have catalog with art for you to choose from. If you are a photographer or artist you can also have your work listed in their catalog as a way to help you sell your artwork, and as a result you will get a discount from buying from Wallhogs.

I want to talk about their coolest product, the vinyl prints. With this you can choose your size, as big as you want it. If you want it 5 feet tall you get it, and they offer pictures up to 4.5 feet wide! These vinyl prints are on a semi- adhesive surface meaning you don't need to frame them or use anything to hang them up. They will stick to any surface without damaging it. You can put your pictures in your home, dorm room, office, special event, basically anywhere there is a blank wall you can decorate with the vinyl pictures. This is a great way to decorate a child's room, and it has the flexibility to change as you want to move things around without hurting the walls. This feature also means that the pictures are reusable.

Wallhogs has some great prices, and quick turn around. Once your photos are uploaded and finished they will be shipped withing 3 business days. There also is no minimum to order, so it is great to just try things out and then order more later! I'm definitely excited about this site. I can't wait to find some things I would like to be blown up to big sizes to decorate around my house. It would be awesome to have some vinyl prints around my house. If you decide to give it a try let me know how you like it.

Thoroughly Modern Mille

The journey begins tonight. We are leaving from our house with all of the things that didn't get put on the moving truck and going down to my husband's house. His sister's are in their high school products of Thoroughly Modern Millie and tonight is opening night! We are excited to see the show because we have seen almost all of their shows and that streak is coming to an end tonight. Once we move we won't be at every show and it is sad to be losing this tradition. From their house we will lave bright and early around 4am to head on the road to moving to the Midwest. I'm nervous to be moving there after all the talk of tornado's lately. I'm very scared of tornado's because I have never encountered one. While we were house hunting we were talking to people and they would much rather face a tornado than an earthquake, but earthquakes don't bother me. I guess you get used to whatever nature disaster you are faced with. If we disappear from the blog for a couple days it is because we are making our trek half way across the country and we didn't have time to post. We don't have a laptop so it isn't as easy for us to post where ever we are. Please keep the blog alive while we are gone, and we should be back by this weekend!

Very Cool Simulator

I discovered a very cool simulator that you all should visit! It is a ride simulator of 4 rides found at Disneyland. In the simulator you can control the number of guests, you have to get an engineer to fix the roller coaster if it has a problem and keep all the cars going. I think it is very fun! It is comparable to Roller Coaster Tycoon except money isn't a key to this. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Your Own Place to Eat

Have you ever contemplated opening your own restaurant? I think it would be awesome to own your own place to eat. Sometimes when thinking of opening a business things can get complicated with getting a loan to start things up. Sometimes you may not know where to turn to get your loan or who to approach. There is a company that wants to help. It is called ARF- Advanced Restaurant Finance. They specialize in loans for restaurants and retailers that are medium size. If you are looking for information on small to medium business loans, their website can answer all the questions you have, or you can call them to get setup.

Garage Storage

Do you keep your car in your garage or is it filled with stuff? My parents always have most of their garage filled with stuff, from Christmas decorations, to sentimental things they can't part with. All this stuff leads to just enough room for 1 car to squeeze in even though it is a two car garage. One of the things I look forward to having when we finally get a house will be a garage for the car and NOT stuff. There are very nice cabinets and work benches to help with garage storage. I think in our situation since we are just starting out with not very many things to put in a garage a small cabinet would suffice. I think that my husband would enjoy having a work bench to store his limited number of tools and to work on a few projects. As the amount of things we have grows, as we live in our house longer and longer I'm sure it will come to a point when we will need a full wall of storage cabinets in our garage and (to my husbands delight) a pegboard to hang his tools.

The Importance of Lighting

I often watch HGTV to get ideas of how to fix up or remodel my home in inexpensive ways. One of the things I have learned is that lighting fixtures make a huge difference. A dated lighting fixture can make your house look dated and over shadow some of the work you have already done on a house, whereas an updated lighting fixture can brighten the whole room making things look newer.

At Farrey's you can find all different kind of light fixtures. From ceiling fans, to fine art lamps, to ambiance lighting, to beautiful sea gull lighting and much more. There are hundreds of light fixtures to choose from. At Farrey's you can shop for indoor lighting as well as outdoor light fixtures. Farrey's has an extensive selection of energy efficient lighting for both outdoors and in. You can visit their website and browse their selection with their lighting product search tool and start making your home brighter!

Furniture

One of the best parts about moving is that I get to buy some new furniture! I have gone to some stores and looked around and found some things I liked. I have also been looking online. One of my favorite sites to look at furniture is call Best Priced Furniture. They have a lot of furniture to look at. One of my favorite sections to look at is the dining room sets. They have a lot of options, I mean 7 pages of options. It's huge! I'm really looking forward to having a nice dining room table and Best Priced Furniture definitely has a lot of pretty tables. They also have a large kids sections which is nice since I am also in the market for a bed for my daughter. One of the great things about this site is that there is free shipping, and so that isn't an extra cost! The website also has a clearance section where you can browse and find some great furniture for even bigger discounts. I think that when we finally get into our new house that some of my new furniture is going to come from Best Priced Furniture and have it shipped straight to my house for free!

Packing, Packing, Packing

Since all of our possesions are getting moved on Monday we have been packing up a storm. Actually it is more like a drizzle. With each day that gets closer we pack a little bit more, but I'm finding that I have a very short attention span when it comes to packing. I don't enjoy it. Especially when you get to the dusty stuff that you have to clean off before you can put it in a box. Luckily my husband likes to pack and so he is having fun and I try to help him the best I can. I think we are doing pretty good, but we have run out of big boxes so progress might slow until we can get some more big boxes. All in all it's getting closer and soon we'll be on the road to a new life in the midwest!

My Photo Garden

I have started a new blog called My Photo Garden. It is basically just pictures of flowers, insects, landscapes... nature. I recently took up a hobby of photographing those things and I wanted to share my pictures. I also think it would be fun if I had some co-authors who also enjoyed taking pictures of nature and wanted to share their photos through that blog also. Please email me at spazymunky@gmail.com if you are interested in being a co-author and posting your photographs on that blog.

Pirate Dinner Theater

Aye mateys and listen to this! There is a very cool attraction in Orlando, Florida and in Buena Vista, California that you all will be excited to hear about. This cool attraction is called the Pirates Adventure Dinner Show. That link will take you to a web page where you can buy tickets for the show in Orlando for a very nice discounted price.
Now this is an exciting show and I personally have really been wanting to see it. You start out the adventure with an appetizer buffet. There is a delicious dinner to follow along with a yummy dessert. On top of having this incredible feast to enjoy there is a pirate show to watch. It is like live action Broadway happening before your eyes. The set is complete with a fully rigged pirate ship. The actors and actresses are swinging around the ship in an action packed show. I have seen commercials as well as read all about the show on this website and I hope to be able to go to the Pirates Adventure Dinner Show when I go to Orlando this July! Check it out mateys and you will want to hop aboard the ship also!

Little Goodbye's

Now it is 9 days and counting until we moving. For the past couple days and for the next couple of days we will be seeing some people and when the visit is over that will be the last time we see them for a while. I think this method of saying goodbye slowly is better for me than having one big day to say "see ya" to everyone. Yesterday my mother-in-law came up to watch our daughter while we packed. We mostly hung out with her instead of working but it was good. It was probably a little goodbye. My sister-in-law is going to have a baby any minute now and then his mom will be gone to help her and she probably won't be back in time to see again before we move. Yesterday was her way to spend a day with us before these days are a thing of the past. All of the family we live by (my parents, my sister and her family, my husband's parents and sisters still at home) have taken this time that we have all had together for granted. We have enjoyed spending so much time with everyone and now it slowly is coming to an end. Our families will be even more spread out across the US. I get really sad when I think about it, but it will be good for us to get back out on our own, and hopefully we will love the midwest. I haven't cried so far, and I hope that I can continue to hold off on this crying feeling until we are about to leave. I think on Monday I will lose it because that is when my little goodbye's will be with my parents. I'm sure this experience is going to be a good one for me and my family, and now more people have a reason to go on vacation to the midwest!
