Digital Picture Frames

Digital picture frames are a very cool new technology allowing you to load several pictures into a memory card within a digital frame and it will rotate through them kind of like a slide show. They are awesome! Their prices are also very reasonable. There is an online electronic store called digitalframez.com specializing in lcd digital picture frames. The digital frames range from 7 inches to 10. Right now at their website they will throw in a free 256mb card with every purchase, and they ship worldwide. You can load up the card with many pictures and have an awesome slide show on the frame. The website even speaks of adding videos to the cards and watching them on the frames. Some of the digital frames even come with remote controls. The frames come in all different colors. These digital photo frames make excellent gifts for all occasions. I'm hoping to get one in the near future!

Smorty

Once again I want to tell you about another get paid for blogging site. This one is called Smorty. This site connects advertisers with publishers (bloggers) to write opinions with links back to an advertisers site. If you are using your blog for money, this is another good site to join. The posts are only required to be from 150-400 words with a minimum payment of $6. I think it is well worth the 5-10 minutes it takes to write 150 words. Unlike some paid to blog sites you get all of the money, Smorty doesn't keep a percentage of it. You also get paid on a weekly basis which is another great feature! We have had our towels picked out for the guest bathroom ever since we lived in the hotel, so I kind of new what kind of art design I wanted to do for the bathroom. The pattern in the art matches the pattern on the towels. These ones were a lot harder and more time consuming to do than my last pictures.

Get Featured!

There is a new website with a brilliant idea! It is called Fechr(pronounced feature). They "feature" a new blog everyday. All you have to do is write up a little post about their blog and then WHAM! You could get featured on their blog. They are semi-new but they bring in a fair amount of traffic, so it is worth the little extra effort to get featured! I'm trying it out. I have had a fellow blogger friend successfully be featured and had it bring in quite a bit of traffic! I hope I'm next!!

Multiple Trash Cans

Where we lived in California we had three trash cans and three different sanitation trucks came to pick up each one. One garbage can was for normal trash, one was for green waste, and the other for recycling. I really enjoyed being able to separate the garbage and just having to put it out on the curb to get picked up. Here in Kansas we get one trash can. If you want to recycle you have to find a recycling center and do it yourself. If you have green waste, you CANNOT put it in the normal garbage can, somehow you have to get it to the dump yourself. This means that you cannot bag your grass when you mow it unless you are prepared to get it to the dump. People with trucks obviously don't have too big of an issue getting things to the dump, but those of us with sedans have a hard time putting bags and bags of grass in our trunk and taking it to the dump. This means we do not bag our grass, we just let it fall onto the grass. We don't go out and play on our grass because of this. We really hate to do this, but we feel we have no other choice. I now really appreciate all the different trash cans and different garbage men who came to collect it, because we are having a harder time here with the waste situation.

I Love WIFI

Here we are sitting in the Kansas City Missouri airport on the internet!! We have my husband's work laptop with us and so I am able to post on the blog while we wait for our plane! This is so great! We got a little lost on the way to the airport since we didn't know where we were going, once we found our way back on track there was a bunch of road construction which took us on a detour. That was fun. But we made it with about 2 hours to spare and here we are. Hopefully there will be free wifi in the hotel we are staying at in Orlando and then I can post once in a while. Florida Fun

Well tomorrow we are off for a week of R and R in Florida with my husband's family. We are going to go to Walt Disney world for a couple days and enjoy Florida for a few days before that. We are very excited. I am a kind of person that needs vacation about every 3 months in order stand everyday life and I have been on vacation in 7 months so I am very much looking forward to this. Internet Offers

You can find pretty much anything you want on the internet. It is a great place for looking up information of all sorts. It is also a place where you can find "free" stuff and coupons to help you save money on products. There is a new website called My Savings where you can get free samples and printable coupons. There are many sites like this on the internet, but this one is new and is wanting to get the word out about it so check it out. They offer free product samples on almost everything. From baby products to food, health and beauty to diet pills, and much more. They also have a section that is printable coupons to help you save on the products you buy. I went and checked out this site. I wanted to get a free sample of some baby swimming diapers since I've never tried them with my baby before. In order to get the free sample I had to go through pages and pages of offers that they want you to sign up for. The same offers you have seen in a million different places on the internet. About half way through saying no to all the offers I got sick of the hassle and so I didn't go through with getting the "Free" sample. They say "free" I say no it isn't. There is a lot of hassle and scam involved in getting to where you actually get the product. After you fill out all the forms you are forever hounded with junk mail in your email boxes and so forth. You can check it out if you want because there really do have hundreds of "free" samples, but be warned that free does have a price.

Let's talk about Money

I know it is taboo or offensive to talk about money but why? There are some friends or even family members that I would love to know how much money they make, or what their bank balance is at. I wish I could just ask. When I was younger I used to think I could gage someone "rich meter" according to things. If they had multiple cars, a big house, went on a lot of vacations, or remodeled their house. I thought "things" were a sign of money. Now that I own a home and am living real life I find that this is not true. We are going on a lot of vacations this year and we are remodeling our house and I would not consider us to be rich. Plus with credit cards there seems to be an endless supply of money to those who don't really have the money to pay for it. Objects are deceiving as a "rich meter."

There are times when I feel depressed or jealous of how much money I THINK someone has. Keep in mind I haven't asked so I don't really know because we aren't allowed to do that. I also struggle with siblings or in laws that I THINK make more money than us or are going to school to become something that will make more money that we do. I hate feeling this way. I wonder if talking about money with those people would ease these feelings. I just want to talk about money. I wish we could change our culture so I could ask you: How much do you make??

Pergo Verdict

A couple posts ago I spoke of our flooring problem. We want to put a new floor in our kitchen and dining room, but didn't really know what floor we wanted. We were going to go with Pergo until I read some reviews that made me question that decision. Well, after reading a lot more reviews and speaking to people that have Pergo, plus more flooring people we ave decided to go ahead and put the Pergo in our kitchen and dining room. We are very excited for it to be installed and will definitely put up pictures when it happens.

Frogs 'n Fireflies

There are a couple new creatures from nature that are are abundantly around the Midwest. Besides the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland I have never seen a firefly before we moved to Kansas. They are so fun to watch. We have gone out and caught a couple to get a good look at them. They fly very slow so it is easy to catch them. We love to go out to our gazebo and sit outside and watch the fireflies at night.

The frogs on the other hand I don't find so cute. They are very little and they are everywhere. When we drive places on warm days they are all over the road and so we are swerving all over the place to try and avoid them. Luckily we don't have them in our yard, but when we go to the parks or some of our friends houses they are all over the grass. There are little frogs and toads. It's amazing how different Kansas is from California.
