Windows Vista

The day has finally arrived, Windows Vista is here. Did you see me in line braving the freezing cold to get a copy, no. I have tried to keep up with major news about Vista for past couple of months but nothing I read made feel like Vista was something I had to have. I have been reading the latest news about it today and even the Pro-get Vista articles are not presenting anything that makes Vista worth getting right now!! One of biggest reasons holding me back from buying a copy is that I can't get the discount because I don't have an XP cd. Even though between my wife and I we have two computers (actually three, but the third one has a bad power supply), both are running XP but they were given to us so the cd must have gotten lost in the exchange or something; bottom line, we are lacking XP cds. So the only way I see Vista coming to my house is on a new computer, and unless my tax return turns out to be a surprisingly large I don't see a new computer in my near future.
I read an article at pcworld.com entitled Windows Vista: 15 Reasons to Switch. I went through each of the 15 points and I thought each one was cool or a good idea and I would use them if I had them but it wasn't enough of a WOW factor to really empress me. One of the points was the new sidebar widgets, I already have widgets on my desktop so i don't need a new OS that offers something I already have. Then I read the 6 Reasons to not Switch, I found it really insightful. This article covered things like Vista isn't "complete" yet, not all programs and devices are compatible with Vista yet and that you basically need a new computer in order to use Vista at it's full capacity.
I think one day I will switch to Vista, but for now I am going to wait until some of the major wrinkles get ironed out.
(I would consider getting Vista if I found a generous donation from the PayPal donate, found on the right hand side of your screen -->)

How many people really have been to McDonald's?

Some McDonald's signs say "Millions and Billions served" others just say "Billions Served" and some like this sign give an actual number.

In the blogosphere visitors (traffic) are a huge thing for the survival of our websites. We speak of unique visitors compared with return visitors, or subscribers. I love my subscribers and appreciate all the return visitors I get. A place like McDonald's would only be able to survive with return visitors, people who keep coming back multiple times. My question about McDonald's is this: How many people have really been to McDonald's? When your sign says 99 billion served, that is repeat business. How many unique visitors have they actually received? If only there were a site meter at McDonald's, then we might know the answer to this question. I'm afraid the answer to this question will be left up in the air through the ages.

Have you ever been to Mcdonald's?

My Money Statistics

I have never done this before but I thought it would be fun to do my money statistics so far. I love to read these on other blogs, to see what programs work the best for them, so perhaps you'd like to know what is happening for me.

Paid Post Sites:
Blogitive (Since Nov. 12 2006) $35
CreamAid(Since Oct. 15 2006) $15
Blogsvertise Has yet to offer me anything

Ad Sites:
Adsense (Since Nov. 11 2006) $12.50
Sta-ads (Since Dec. 9 2006) $ .85
Money4Blogs (one time payment) $25- only on 1 blog, as my other blogs gain popularity I'll submit those also.

Other Sites:
myLot $10.11 (They pay in certain increments, at the pay date this is what I had in my account, but I have made more than this!)

That makes for a grand total of: $98.46!

I'll take what I can get. I have only been up and running for almost 3 months. Visitors are on the rise. I'm figuring more out about adsense everyday to help increase those earnings. By far blogitive is the biggest help to me. I do have some more money coming from them, but I didn't want to include "pretend" money that I haven't received yet. Also, as far as Creamaid goes, you get paid once they fill their post quota, on top of that if someone participates through your Creamaid widgets you get a referral bonus which also doesn't come until the conversation closes so I don't have more money on the way with them, but didn't want to include it. Things are good. It's $98 I didn't have before and I'm very grateful for it. I plan to increase my earning this year dramatically with the help of my other blogs Random Games and Random Super Heroes, with hopefully some new great blog ideas on the way! Plus I am a co-author over at Blog About Your Blog which helps to bring in traffic. This money is completely 100% profit since I use free blogs. I'm sure there are others who have made more money in 3 months but I'm happy with my stats and motivated to increase them!

Since this is a very likely possibility we have been researching our living conditions when we do move. One site we have been checking out is called CondoCompany.com. Generally this site is used for luxury high rise condos. So if you are looking for condos in Boston this is the website to check out! Stranger Than Fiction

I'm sorry for having two movie posts right next to each other. I didn't plan on writing about My Super Ex- Girlfriend but the movie literally just ended and I felt it my duty to warn people. Stranger than Fiction is what my husband and I saw on our date this past weekend. I used to dislike Will Ferrell very much. It wasn't until Elf came to be that I changed my views and started to like him. I also loved Bewitched. So I was very excited to see Stranger than Fiction. This movie is about an author (Emma Thompson) writing a story about a "fictional" character Harold Crick (Will Ferrell) who isn't fictional at all. As he goes about his daily life as an IRS agent he can hear her narrating the story of his life. He goes to a psychiatrist who tells him he is crazy and then ends up talking to a professor of literature (Dustin Hoffman) who helps him figure this thing out. The problem is, the author of his story is known for killing off the heroes in her books and so Harold Crick is next to die. They eventually meet and sort out the details (I'll let you find out if he lives or dies). This seems to be a very original idea. It was nice to finally see a movie that wasn't a sequel or a remake, but this movie was just painful to sit through. There were some morbid parts as Emma Thompson's character would imagine how to kill off Harold Crick. Some not so great acting by a couple members of the cast. I did enjoy Harold's girlfriend Ana Pascal(played by Maggie Gyllenhal). I didn't enjoy the number game that kept going on. I know if was to just show how into number Harold Crick was because he was an IRS agent, but it was just painful for me and got old quickly. It didn't seem very funny. At one point I leaned over to my husband and ask if this movie was a comedy or if it was serious, I couldn't tell, I still don't know. Over all this movie gets a C-, at best. It definitely wasn't as bad as my super ex-girlfriend (check out that post for more). If you have any other views to add to my perspective I'd love to hear them.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend

Today in this post for these next few minutes I am a super hero! My job: to protect the world from seeing this film. For those of you who are too late to hear the warning, I'm very sorry. For those of you where it isn't too late... RUN! Run for your life. Stay away from this film at Blockbuster. This film is 95 minutes of your life you'll never get back. I can't even put into words the disgust and waste of everything this film is. The only positive thing about this movie is Luke Wilson. This film is chalk full of nothing but inappropriateness (major bedroom movie) which I for one am very not interested in feeing! It is just horrible, I don't know how else to put it. There aren't very many other way to put it other than terrible! Stay away. Rent something else!!

myLot Comes Through

First let's explain what myLot is. It is a type of discussion board where you get paid to participate. Registration is free. You go to the website and comment on other discussions or start your own and get paid to do so. The pay is meager but with some effort and some great referrals you can earn a good amount of money each month when they payout. I have previously spoken of mylot and that they actually did pay people. Well when I wrote that I hadn't been paid, but some other friends of mine had. Well now I have been paid! I had set my minimum payout for $25 but I realized since I don't contribute as often as I would like to mylot I should set my payout at the minimum ($10) and just get paid, so I did and I received my paypal payment! I was very excited to get it, especially since I had also just sold some ads space on Random Games so I felt pretty successful yesterday with the blogs. I am wanting to calculate some numbers and report on my earnings up to this point. I know this isn't that kind of blog, but I like to read about what other people are making so perhaps a few of you would be interested to know how I have done in my 3 months of blogging and 3 blogs later.

Tattooing Cows

Giving a cow a tattoo is the latest method farmers and cattle ranchers are using to identify their herd. Now these are normal tattoos, quoting the article these RFID (radio frequency identification) tattoos "enable an identifying number embedded under the skin to be read from over a meter away." First it started with branding some sort of logo into the side on the cow, the method of using brands has been used at one time or another in all countries and all civilizations. I suppose that someone thought this method of identification was little inhumane, so the people who sit around and think about this kind of stuff all day decided to punch a hole in a cow's ear and and stick an ear tag in it. Check out this web site that sells ear tags of all shape, sizes and colors. Now with all the advancement in technology some one has found the time to incorporate technology into identifying cows. As the article states this is not the first time technology has been used to to id cows and other animals, "in the UK pets travelling abroad, and returning, must have an identification chip inside them, but these are expensive and relatively large (12mm by 2mm in diameter), and the readers have a very restricted range." This is how the RFID tattoo works, "The system... uses an array of needles to quickly inject a pattern of dots into each animal, with the pattern changing for each injection. This pattern can then be read from over a meter away using a proprietary reader operating at high frequency." As another article outbreaks, and on this topic points out that there are no metals in the tattoo and "Best of it all, it's apparently safe for humans to ingest allowing the FDA to track back Mad Cow Disease, e-coliSoylent Green." Now that makes me feel so much better, so when they are preforming my autopsy after I die from mad cow disease they'll know which cow killed me. I have a better suggestion "Why don't they think up at way to prevent all these diseases and outbreaks??"

Now if we look at the similarities in the history of cows and humans you will find that we brand cows and people get branded, we put ear tags on cows and people put "ear tags" in their ears, nose, lips and where ever else they want, and we RFID tattoo cows and I am sure that it is only a matter of time until people are getting RFID tattoos. I can see the day now, standing in the line at the DMV waiting for your turn to sit down and get your ID tattoo, so the next time you get pulled over the police officer will just scan you to know who you are.

Solve Rubik's Cube in a few easy steps

I came across this awesome web page that is a Rubik's Cube Solver. All you have to do is enter the current configuration of your cube, hit solve and out pops the step by step solution. I don't know how long it took Eric Dietz to come up with the algorithm that works all this out, but I have to give him credit where credit is due. I have only had limited experience in school with programming (some of which I experienced twice) but I would have no idea where to start to try and do something like this. If I had a Rubik's cube I would mess it up and and try this out, but I don't. Check it out!

Blog Carnivals

When I first heard about blog carnivals I wasn't too excited to participated. I would check out the Blog Carnival website but didn't really find anything I wanted to participate in. Recently, though, my attitude has completely changed! I love blog carnivals! There are so many topics that you can pretty much find one to submit any of your posts to. They bring in a lot of quality traffic and blog carnival quests usually leave comments, which is always fun in my opinion. On top of all of these things, they provide a link to your blog. That is the biggest bonus of them all. Some of the blogs that host blog carnivals are members of Technorati, so by participating I have greatly improved my ranking with them, which also helps bring in traffic. It is a wonderful cycle. A couple weeks ago registers with the blog carnival website so I could host a carnival if I wanted to. I do want to, but since I have no idea what goes into hosting I'm a little nervous about messing it up. I am also at a lack of an idea for a carnival. Any suggestions and tips would be very welcome!! Happy Posting!

Let's Make Some Money with Posts!

Most bloggers have heard of pay per post sites like Payperpost (that's original huh?), Blogitive, ReviewMe, and such. One site that I became familiar with a couple months ago is called CREAMaid. This is also a pay per post site, but no registration is needed, and it isn't as exclusive and some of those sites tend to be. This site is unique in that it uses conversation widgets to track when you publish paid posts. Every week or two a couple "conversations" start on CREAMaid. You go check out the site and see what is being advertised. Recently is was a site about free fonts that I wrote a post about a day or two ago. Other examples include talking about McDonald's, reviewing the movie National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, a free dating site, and the list goes on. You choose what you want to participate. Check out the website or product that is being advertised and click on the conversation widget to begin. The conversation widget will give you a unique code to embed in your paid post that will enable CREAMaid to see that it is your post and you should be paid. This widget also acts as an advertisement on your website for other to join in the conversation. If someone joins the conversation and uses your widget to do so, you receive a referral bonus of a couple of buck (usually $2) when the conversation is finished and the post limit has been met. This has been a great site to be apart of. You can pick and choose, you don't need to register, and you get paid as soon as your post is approved through paypal. The amounts always vary, but a couple of them that I have participated in have been as high as $10. I think that is pretty good money for 10-15 minutes worth of work, plus the traffic it brings in to your blog. So next time your out of offers from blogitive or some other site, head on over to CREAMaid and check it out!

Job Hunt 3rd Edition

Well my husband is currently off at a job interview! Monster.com has really come through for us. We have had contact with multiple companies and a couple of phone interviews. This has been the first interview where the company has flown him out and interviewed him at the location. He was very nervous for this interview but very excited. He said it went well. He got along well with all those he met. He was interviewed by a panel so he had the opportunity to meet a lot of employees. He liked the atmosphere of the company. He had to take a drug test, so that is always fun (NOT!) Of course he passed with flying colors, it's just that handing a cup full of urine isn't the most respectable thing to give a stranger, or someone you know quite well in fact. Overall he had an enjoyable time. He feels good about the interview and we anxiously await their decision. He liked the city and didn't get too lost on his journey. We had previously map quested all his destinations to cut down his getting lost time. I look forward to having him home again. We don't often go our separate ways, so I'm very excited for him to be back late tonight. He has the tricky job of returning to work tomorrow with no knowledge of what happened these past couple of days. Secretive job hunting and interviewing is a tricky business, but deep down in his heart he always wanted to be a spy so now he can act like one!

Random Games

In the beginning of last December I decided that instead of putting games on this blog where they didn't seem to really fit, I would start a free online game blog where all are welcome to play away your day. This blog is called Random Games. It can be found by clicking its title, or on my blogroll. As I was adding more fun games to it tonight I noticed that on my google toolbar page rank thingy it had a page rank of 3. Now often the page rank checker gets confused and so if I refresh my blog it will go to what it normally says (zero, because the blog is so new). Well I refreshed the page a couple times and it still said three. So I decided to check an official google page rank checker where it was confirmed to me that Random Games has a page rank of 3!! I'm so proud! To some this may seem a little accomplishment. For me it is huge, and in such a short period of time. I hope there isn't some fluke in the system because I'm very overjoyed at this. My husband and I decided that when one of our blogs (Random Encounters of We, Random Games, or Random Super Heroes) received any page rank we would go out to Outback Steakhouse to celebrate! So That's where we'll be going for dinner next weekend!! You all should celebrate with us and go to your nearest Outback on Friday. YAY!

Awesome Free Fonts!

I participate in Creamaid occasionally when I like what is being advertised and today I received an email with a new conversation about free fonts! There is a website called Urban Fonts that lets you download all sorts of free fonts. I thought it was a cool website to check out. I'm not very experienced when it comes to fonts and so it may not mean much, but there were a lot of nice fonts that I had never seen before. They also have a top 100 list that is sure to have some great fonts. You can check out that list here. Urbanfonts.com also has a blog, a forum, and an article section where you can read about fonts and typography. This site looks like it could really jazz up any project, so I highly recommend checking out these cool free front downloads.

Top 10 Sins of Blog Usability

Over at SiteProNews Linda Bustos just wrote an article about the Top 10 Sins of Blog Usability. In the article she gives tips for improves and some do's and don'ts for blogging. As I am always looking to improve my blogs I really appreciated this article and thought I would share it.

10. Sending Mixed Signals

The main purpose of your blog should be decided from the very beginning and should be evident in every post there after. Linda and many other writing about how to make professional blogs success have stated that random or personal entry blogs don't make for very successful blogs. Now I realize this is exactly what this blog is, but that what this blogs purpose is. I have some other blogs (Random Games and Random Super Heroes) that have a distinct purpose and so this mainly applies for those blogs.

9. Making it Hard to Subscribe

Asking for a subscription is ok to do. A lot of people don't know how to use an RSS feed so offer email options as well. Linda says that subscribers are very important to a blogs success.

8. Inconsistent Posting

Once you have some loyal subscribers (and probably some that aren't so loyal) you'll need to be consistently updating your website. Your readers want to hear from you, so give them what they want. You should stick to a schedule that is realistic with the amount of time you have to give. Linda gives a tip for those times that you don't have anything to post about. "Blog about someone else's posts related to your topic and include a link back to that post." It won't hurt you if you link to someone else's site and your reader go check it out. The owner of the website will appreciate the link and your reader will appreciate some more useful content provided by you.

7. No Contact Info.

Let your readers contact you. Don't be an anonymous blogger. Trust is gain by your readers if they feel they know who is behind the blog and they feel they know you a little. I like to have my email address on my blog so my readers feel they can contact me at any time, as well as through monitoring my comments. Which leads into...

6. Not Moderating Comments

Spammers would love to come and corrupt the comments on your blog, make sure to monitor your comments and take care of these problems as they arise. Spam will annoy not only the author of the blog but it's readers as well.

5. Excessive Advertising

Make sure your ads and/or affiliate links don't over shadow your useful content. Monetizing a blog is fine as long as the ads don't get in the way or interrupt the content your readers are trying to feast on. Linda, and others, recommend new blogs waiting a while until some good useful posts are up before running ads.

4. Not Linking to Posts

Whenever I talk about another site, or an article I found somewhere I also put a link to it. This is appropriate in order to let your readers check it out for themselves, get their own take on the story and get some background info on the article. It is also a compliment to the author of the website with whom you are referring. This kind of generosity will be noticed and perhaps reciprocated.

3. Dark Background, Light Text

I struggle with my color choices. The colors I seen to like, are not colors everyone else likes. I found this out from multiple comments from my readers asking for color changes. I appreciated the feedback. you don't want to have your readers straining their eyes to read your posts. The hard to read colors for instants are white text on a dark background, or blocks of red. Stick to easy to read colors. Black text on a white backdrop is always a safe bet.

2. No Search Box

Readers may not remember exactly where a post is that they enjoyed, or perhaps they want to follow up on comments they left. Having a search box some easy to find place on your blog is a good way for people to easily find what they are looking for.

1. Hiding Navigation

Easy navigation is very important for your readers sanity. Don't make your reader scroll down very far before they find your archives, or listed posts or labels. Labeling your posts is a great idea to make things easier on your readers, as well as for search engines. Tagging your posts are also a key way of receiving traffic, especially from huge sites like Technorati. Linda also points out that the easier to navigate the better, and with tagging and labeling perhaps "less is more."

I hope this article help you reevaluate some things about your blog or website and help make it a little better. As we begin 2007 I know my goal is to continually improve Random Encounters of We as well as the other blogs I've listed above. Any comments about this article are very much welcome.

Link Referral

If you look to the right of the posts you will see a sea of buttons. One of the buttons that flashes is from Link Referral. This free site allows you to register your websites and put them on a list under whatever category you choose. You can leave your sites alone from there and do nothing if you wish. You can receive views of your site and if people like your site they can "review" it and give comments and feedback and score of 1-5 stars. If you want to put some extra effort into this website you can look at 30 sites everyday (I usually devote 30 minutes to this every other day) and by looking at other sites you are moving your website to the top of the list. You also can "review" and give comments on up to 5 websites per day which also helps improve your ranking on the list.
I love this website. Like I said earlier I usually don't visit the recommended 30 everyday, but about every other day. It only takes about 30 minutes to do this if I am rushing through. The return I gain from this website especially when I take the time to do my "homework" for the site is huge. This site easily is to blame for a good 30% of traffic to my blogs (even higher than that on my game blog Random Games). I would most definitely recommend signing up for this site. Even if you do not want to do the extra work of view other websites, your site will still get hits because most everyone else is doing their 30 views. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Make Money with Hub Pages

Hub Pages is program I just came across to help you make money. It is a program like digg. You create a free account with hub pages and write articles. I usually just copy and paste my favorite articles from my blogs and put them on Hub Pages or you can write original articles just for your hub. Then you link your google adsense account, amazon, or ebay through hub pages to help you earn money. I have my hubs affiliated with my google adsense, this means that when anyone is reading my hubs, there are ads on the top of the page. If one of these ads gets clicked then it shows up on my adsense account. I love this program. Of course, like most of the good things on the web, there is a referral system in place. If you have referrals sign up under your name you'll receive a percentage of the impressions their hubs (articles) generate. Hubs are rated from 1-100, so the higher your number the closer to the top of the list you are. Receiving referral impressions will help your hubs move up the list and been seen by more people, resulting in more income. If you would like to check out hub pages and help me with a referral, click this link to Hub Pages.

Westward

I recently came across a fun game on the internet. This is one of those games where you can download the free 60 minute trial and then choose whether or not to pay the $19.95 for the full version. In the game Westward you enter the Wild West and try to build up three booming towns as you are heading West. In the game you have to deal with bandits, drought, fire and other mishaps. During the course of the game you get the opportunity to go to other towns to help them out from dynamite explosions, or flooding from a river. There are 25 different building you can build up from houses, to farms, to the General store, to gold mines and much more! You can find this game to download on many different game sites including, Pogo, Bigfish, and Gamehouse to name just a few. A trick I found out from downloading it from these three sites is that after you free trial expires and you go to download it again from a different site, yo can click continue instead of start new game and it will pick up from where you left off. I didn't discover this until I was downloading it for the third time, so I could have gotten a lot farther in the game. I also think that if you download it from pogo that as long as you don't close it or turn off your computer you can keep it as long as you'd like. This is true for other downloadable free trials on that site. After reading this it kinda sounds like one of those paid posts, this isn't a paid post, I just really like this game, and I'm sure some of you will too.

Blogsvertise

There are a couple blogs that I regularly check that are about making money on the internet. These blogs tend to give updates on how they are doing and how much money they make from each site they are members of. A common name among them is Blogsvertise. This is a site where you get paid to post. Once approved you will have offers given to you. You write posts about these offers and mention them with a link three times in your post and then Blogsvertise pays you. I have chosen to get paid by paypal as it is the easiest thing for me. Since I am new I can't rate this positively or negatively, but it is worth a shot. It seems an easy enough way to earn a little extra money. I would recommend checking out Blogsvertise if you are looking for another way to earn money with your blog. Also, as with most programs if you refer people you receive a percentage of their earnings as well. So if you'd like to help me out with a referral use this link for Blogsvertise.

Lunch in Maine

Since Maine was so close we took a jaunt up to Kittery which is just over the border and had lunch at the Weather vane. It was a very nice seafood lunch. I tried calamari for the first time and do NOT care for it at all! They also have an outlet mall in Kittery so we stopped by Old Navy and had a look around. Let me tell you, the prices were great!

The Shot Heard Around the World

We also checked out the Battle of Lexington and Concord in MA. The third picture is the plaque that was on the monument talking about the "shot heard around the world." This is where the first shots that started the revolution took place. On the bridge is the supposed spot where it all began.

U-Turn Count

While we were back in New England we did a lot of driving. We had a 15 passenger van because at all times there were at least 7 people, our highest number in the van was 11. We needed the extra room of the 15 passenger van for all that luggage! Can you imagine luggage for 11 people? Six of those being girls!! We drove from Massachusetts, to Connecticut, to Rhode Island, New York, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Every stop was mapquested but since we have never been there it didn't guarantee we get to our final destination without any U-turns. In fact throughout our 7 day journey we made 18 U-turns. Most of these were made in Massachusetts since that is where the majority of our time was spent. Overall I think that 18 U-turns isn't too bad considering all the driving we did, and visiting 7 states. It was fun to keep track of the U-turns though. It turned into a little game! Now that I think of it, what we should have been keeping track of was the toll count. How much money we spent on toll roads. That's one reason you gotta love the west coast - freeways!!

On Broadway in New York City

Continuing on with the report of our family trip back east, on Saturday December 30 we spent the day in NYC! We had matinée tickets to see The Drowsy Chaperone so we toured New York before and after the show. In this first picture you can see the city setting up for New Years Eve. The 2007 sign was already up, and we saw them raising the ball on its poll.
This was an exciting sight, to see the theater where the Drowsy Chaperone is playing. We are all huge Sutton Foster fans and so we were very excited to see her perform in person. We were waiting at the stage door a little bit before the show hoping to see some of the actors. I have a brave brother in law and he decided to open the stage door to find out if Sutton was already there. It turns out that she was there but the stage door manager said we could come in and he called Julian, her dresser. While we were waiting for Julian to come we saw Bob Martin who wrote and starred in the show. That was VERY exciting. Julian came and we gave him CD covers for the show and I had a program for the show and he took them to have Sutton sign them. After the show we went back to the stage door and picked up our autographed souvenirs!! We were very excited. It was a great show! There was some inappropriate humor for my taste, but over all it was very thrilling!
I took this picture of the curtain before the show started since you aren't supposed to take pictures of the actual show.
This is a infamous Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. We wanted to go ice skating but the lines were crazy long and we were short on time. It was exciting to see all the ice skaters, though, because we hadn't seen it before. Overall New York City was a wonderfully memorable time. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip! It was also special to see a Broadway show as a family.

Pilgrims

On Friday Dec. 29 we traveled down to Plymouth to see the Mayflower (which is actually the Mayflower2, a replica). Since it was winter the ship was closed so we could only take pictures from a distance.
A few yards away from the Mayflower 2 was Plymouth rock. Some people had told me that it was a small rock so don't expect anything grand, but it was a lot bigger than I thought it was. If you look closely there is a crack down the left side of it from where it broke while getting moved around. Some of the pilgrims thought the rock should be in the town square so they moved it and it broke. Eventually the rock got moved back to its original position here on the beach of Plymouth, MA.

Boston's Freedom Trail

On December 28 was our family's first day of touring downtown Boston. We decided to do the Freedom Trail since that would take us to the most popular sights. This first picture is us driving past Fenway Park. We didn't stop or look around, just drove by.

This is Paul Revere's grave.
This is Paul Revere's house. It was very interesting to go inside. I loved all the furniture and such that was inside.
Also on the freedom trail was the Capital building, Boston Massacre site, Old South Church, Faneuil Hall (which was very pretty inside, and had very interesting artifacts from history and signatures of past presidents and other important people) and the Old North Church. We were very excited to see the old North Church because it was on the end of National Treasure.

It was very interesting and inspiring to see the beginning foundations of our country. I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed knowing I was walking where some of this country's founding fathers walked. It was a very memorable experience and I'm glad to have shared it with my family.
